Being a student and living in a shared house, meant that we had a lot of waste including plastic cups, wrappers and bottles filled our bins. Through stacking and arranging the plastics before melting them I was able to create monster-like shapes. I then painted the figures with acrylics which allowed them to really come to life. I took the creatures into York’s Museum Gardens where I photographed them, eventually leaving the creatures behind, hiding among the trees and foliage ready to be discovered by members of the public.
